Arnica Carrier Oil: The Healing Remedy
Overview Of Arnica Oil
Searching for a little bit of comfort? Arnica oil is a soothing remedy that’ll heal you from head to toe. Read on to find out how to get the most out of this rejuvenating and skin-renewing oil.
What Is Arnica Oil?
Arnica is a brilliant yellow flower grown near the misty highlands of Europe. The plant has a long history of being used as a medicinal plant for healing and rejuvenating the senses. The flower is prized for its key ingredient ‒ helenalin, which is particularly well-known for treating body aches, sore joints and strained muscles. Arnica has even been brewed into delicious health teas.
Arnica is also an important ingredient in modern gels, massage oils and creams for post-workout relief, so it’s a must-have for anyone trying to live that #FitFam lifestyle.
To create arnica oil, its flowers are cold-pressed into a pure extract with a golden-yellow color. This method captures the “essence” of the plant’s healing benefits for which it is prized. That said, there is so much more to this natural oil; it’s also a great beauty booster and can be used for a pampering self-care routine.
Arnica Oil Benefits
Arnica is simply bursting with benefits for healing and soothing your body. Here are some of them:
Arnica Oil For Muscle Pain & Arthritis
Arnica oil can be your new fitness companion for speedy recoveries, smoother workouts and pain-free jogs. The fast-absorbing oil acts like a natural painkiller on sore spots and helps tense muscles unwind so you can rest well before hitting the gym or tarmac again.
Arnica Oil For Sensitive Skin
Arnica oil leaves your skin feeling calm & balanced for worry-free days. The soothing floral extract is rich in helenalin which keeps sensitive skin in check to avoid potential breakouts. Just a few dabs daily should be enough to restore a soothed and smooth complexion.
Arnica Oil For Bruises & Swelling
Whether you enjoy nature hikes or the occasional jog, bruising is inevitable. Thankfully, arnica oil helps the blood vessels below your skin heal. It also reduces swelling and eases the pain that leaves your legs or arms feeling tender and sore.
How To Use Arnica Oil
Arnica has a wonderful range of uses for baths, bodycare and more. Here are some of our recommended ways to use arnica oil:
Arnica Oil For Body Scrubs
Natural scrubs are amazing tools for body care as they deliver a pampering experience while keeping your skin nourished. However, because they exfoliate skin cells, some scrubs can be a little abrasive for sensitive skin types.
This is why we’d recommend adding arnica oil to your DIY scrub; it works wonders for sensitive skin, leaving it feeling soothed and balanced instead of red and agitated.
To craft your own scrub, simply blend 1 cup of himalayan sea salt or brown sugar with 1 tablespoon of arnica oil and get ready to wash all your worries (and dead skin cells) away.
Arnica Oil For Bath Bombs
After intense workouts, nothing soothes body aches and invigorates the senses like a healing bath bomb. For the perfect post-gym ritual, here’s what you’ll need to create a nourishing arnica-infused bath bomb.
- 4oz baking soda
- 4oz citric acid
- 8oz Epsom salt
- 1tbsp bentonite clay
- 4-5 tbsp of jojoba/apricot carrier oil
- 3 tbsp of arnica oil
- Mix the ingredients together in a large bowl, till it reaches the consistency of wet sand. If it’s too dry, add more oil. If it’s too wet, add more baking soda.
- Press the mixture firmly into an ornament mold for a perfectly round batch of bath bombs.
- Pop the mix into the freezer to harden them.
- When you’re ready, drop them into your warm bath.
Arnica Oil For Skin & Stretch Marks
If you’re trying to get ahead of the aging process, we’ve got good news: you can use arnica oil to preserve your skin’s youthful beauty! This gentle oil is deeply moisturizing for the skin, which helps to keep it looking nice and plump while smoothing out stretch marks. It’s also amazing at fading out the dark bruises, hyperpigmentation and discoloration that accompany pregnancy.
To enjoy these anti-aging benefits, simply massage 3–5 drops of arnica carrier oil onto your stretch marks to restore your skin’s elasticity and watch those marks vanish.
