Vanilla Oil Extracted

Vanilla Oil Extracted

The vanilla beans are first dried and cured. These beans are next subjected to any of the following methods to extract the oil. In the first method the beans are injected with carbon dioxide and pressurized. The second method involves solvent extraction.Distillation will not provide the aromatic components of the vanilla bean. The aromatic chemicals of the vanilla bean and other fragile plants can only be released by using a solvent. The plant material is put into a drum and subjected to a solvent along with mild heat to produce aromatic, condensed oils from plants. After the solvent is evaporated, a resin known as a concrète or resinoid is left behind. The aromatic components are separated by treating the resin with alcohol.
