Peppermint Hydrosol is typically a result of the manufacturing of essential oils by steam distillation, although it can also be the primary product.
The distillation program commences with the heating of water and plant debris. We know from primary school science that when plant matter and water are warmed, their states change. Plant stuff begins to degrade in the water when heated. The water then changes into a gas, with each water molecule taking the disintegrated plant molecules with it. The plant and water vapour must be chilled back into a liquid condition before they can be used. When the steam cools, it condenses, and the chilled water and plant molecules combine to form a hydrosol.
