One of the best ways to sleep better during hot summer nights is to combine a cool, comfortable bedroom with calming essential oils such as lavender, Roman chamomile, and vetiver. These soothing aromas can help create a more relaxing bedtime environment when diffused or used as part of an evening routine.

Few things are more frustrating than being exhausted and still unable to fall asleep.

Summer nights can be particularly challenging. The bedroom feels warmer than usual, the sheets seem to trap heat, and every position somehow feels uncomfortable. Even people who normally sleep well can find themselves tossing and turning when temperatures climb.

DIY Sleep Pillow Spray

A pillow spray is one of the easiest ways to enjoy an essential oil for sleep routine without running a diffuser all night.

What You'll Need

  • 2 ounces distilled water
  • 1 teaspoon witch hazel
  • 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 4 drops Roman Chamomile Essential Oil
  • Small spray bottle

Instructions

  1. Add the witch hazel to the bottle.
  2. Add the essential oils.
  3. Pour in the distilled water.
  4. Shake well before each use.

Mist lightly onto bedding and pillows a few minutes before bedtime.
