About hair & scalp oil
Why so few drops of manuka?
Manuka can irritate skin. Three drops in 30 ml keeps it mild, and the oil is washed out after 30 minutes.
Can I leave it in overnight?
No. Wash it out after 30 minutes with two rounds of shampoo.
How often should I use it?
Twice a week, before you wash your hair.
About fresh home scent
How many drops go in a diffuser?
Seven drops for a standard 100 to 200 ml diffuser: 2 Manuka, 3 Bergamot, 2 Spruce. Go up a drop at a time in a large room.
How many drops are in a bottle?
A 10 ml bottle holds about 200 drops. The blend uses 2 drops of Manuka per fill.
Is it safe to diffuse around pets?
Diffuse in a ventilated room for 30 to 60 minutes, and make sure your pet can leave the room. Ask your vet first for cats and birds.
About natural cleaning
Which surfaces can I use it on?
Sealed counters, sinks, tiles and glass. Not on marble, granite, waxed wood or electronics.
Can I use it for laundry?
Yes: 5 drops of Manuka on a wool dryer ball. Let the drops soak in for a few minutes, then dry on a low heat setting.
How long does the spray keep?
Use it within a month, and keep the bottle out of the sun.
About soap & candle making
Can I use it in candles?
Yes: 6 ml of essential oils for every 100 g of soy wax, about 5%. Manuka is soft in wax, so pair it with Cedarwood.
How much Manuka does a batch use?
15 drops of Manuka in each 250 g batch.
Why so little manuka in each batch?
Manuka can irritate skin. Keeping the whole batch at 1% oils, with manuka as the smaller part, keeps the bars mild.
Everything else
Is this the same as manuka honey?
No. This is the essential oil from the leaves of Leptospermum scoparium, from New Zealand. It isn't honey and it isn't for eating.
Can I put it straight on my skin?
No. Manuka can irritate skin. Mix it into a carrier oil first and patch test on your inner arm 24 hours before.
Which size should I pick?
Most people pick Complete. Routines over $50 ship free, and over $75 they also get a free Eucalyptus. The Starter is the three items one recipe needs; the Collection adds two more.
Do I save when I buy more than one?
Yes, on everything in your cart: 2 items 10% off, 3 to 5 items 15% off, 6 or more 20% off. It's applied automatically.
When does my order ship free?
When the products in your cart come to $50 or more after discounts. A free Eucalyptus is added at $75 and a free Lemon at $95. Shipping Protection doesn't count toward these.
